Hundreds of weapons, military vehicles repaired, ministry

KABUL: A total of 380 various types of light and heavy weapons and 218 different types of military vehicles which had earlier been destroyed and were unusable, have been repaired by the technical team of 207th Al-Farooq Army Corps in the country’s western province of Herat in the past year, the Ministry of National Defense said in a statement the other day. The repaired vehicles include 90 Humvee tanks, 48 Russian tanks with tracked systems, 40 international trucks, 35 assault tanks, and 5 cranes, the statement said. A few days ago, 40 Humvees, 30 Internationals, 150 Ranger vehicles, 7 cranes, and several other vehicles, had been repaired by the technical team of the 209th AlFath Army Corps of the ministry in the country’s northern province of Balkh. It is to be noted that the repaired weapons and vehicles belong to the previous government which had been left destroyed and as a result of efforts of the technical team of the army corps of the ministry have been repaired and are ready for use in any military operation. After the resumption of power by the Islamic Emirate, thousands of various types of destroyed military vehicles and weapons have so far been repaired by engineering teams of the ministry.
