Hundreds of seminaries constructed in Baghlan

PUL-E-KHUMRI: As many as 271 religious schools have been constructed in the country’s northern province of Baghlan in the past 11 months of the current solar year, the provincial Education Department said in a statement the other day. Director of the provincial ed ucation department Mohammad Noor Azizi said 271 seminaries have been established in various parts of the province and more than 10,000 students, including girls, are enrolled and getting religious education, according to the statement. The director linked the uptick in the number of seminaries to stability in the country. Previously, he said, people would send their children to neighboring countries due to insecurity, adding that compared to the past, there had been a significant improvement in madrasa education.
