Hundreds of historical relics handed over to National Museum, ministry

KABUL: A total of 130 historical relics have been handed over to the National Museum by the Archeology Department of the Ministry of Information and Culture, the ministry said in a statement Wednesday. Director of the Archeology Department of the ministry, Zabiullah Sadat said the relics had been discovered by workers from Mes Aynak mining site in Logar and Qol-e-Surkh Tut in Kabul and handed over to the National Museum, according to the statement. Sadat added the relics are made of stone, clay, metal and bone types, which include Oil-burning clay lamps, fireboxes, agate beads and decorative items. A few months ago, dozens of historical relics had been discovered by local people in Logar province and handed over to the National Museum. The Kabul Times
