Hundreds of Afghan refugees return home, official

KABUL: A total of 1,825 Afghan refugees have returned from the Islamic Republic of Iran Pakistan to the country within the past day, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriates said in a statement the other day. As many as 1,615 Afghan refugees have returned from Iran via the Islam Qala ground port of the country, the statement said, adding that 676 have been introduced to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for receiving necessary assistance. Also, 210 Afghan refugees have forcefully been deported by Pakistani officials and returned via Torkham port to the country, the statement added. Sixty-eight children without family have been introduced to the WARCHILD Organization to identify their families, as well as 61families have been provided with 10,000 Afghani and free sim cards by the appointed committee at the port, the statement further added.
