HUDC approves draft on Surkhakan National Park

KABUL: Chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, on Monday, a meeting of the high council for urban development approved the draft of national park of Surkhakan and the draft on finalization of Herat city master-plan and the eastern Lghman’s Qarghae district, BNA reported the other day.
According to the agency, the park is expected to be created in 1,500 acres of land in Surkhakan area of Qarghae district, along the road between Kabul and Nangarhar.
The project requires 170 million Afghani, to complete, said the agency quoting the president directing the Mehtarlam mayor and the ministry of finance to allocate a proper budget.
Herat city master-plan draft has also been approved in principle by the meeting, according to the agency.
Thanking the officials of the ministry of urban development and the land authority, for their efforts in this field, the president went on as saying that a clear definition should be made from the city master-plan, as what has been done in the city mostly resembles a merely prospect of the land use.
In the industrial park built in 1956 acres of land in Deh Sabz area of the capital Kabul, nearly 450 land plots have been distributed among the industrialists and factory owners, said the agency quoting one of the in charges of the ministry of urban development.
The president instructed a team consisting the ministry of urban development, land authority, ministry of finance, ministry of justice, ministry of commerce and industries, general directorate of the presidential affairs, Da Afghan Breshna Shirkat led by Karim Amin, the presidential senior advisor to assess all technical aspects of the park and present the result for approval by the next cabinet meeting.
