Historical ties guide India’s policy in Afghanistan, Randhir Jaiswal

Meanwhile, the Islamic Emirate has adopted the strategy of positive and productive interaction and cooperation, as well as a balanced policy in relations with the neighboring and world countries.

KABUL: Following the visit of the Indian diplomat to Kabul and his meeting with a number of high-ranking officials of the Islamic Emirate, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that country Randhir Jaiswal emphasized the interaction of New Delhi with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) and said that the historical ties guide India’s policy in Afghanistan, the state-run Bakhtar News Agency reported the other day. Regarding the visit of India’s special representative to Afghanistan, Jaiswal said that India has historical and civilizational ties with the people of Afghanistan and these ties will guide India’s ap proach and policy towards Afghanistan, according to the agency. Commenting about the visit his country’s diplomat to Kabul, Randhir Jaiswal said that the diplomatic delegation of this country, led by its special representative, visited Kabul about India’s humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan, as well as the use of Chabahar port by Afghan businessmen have discussed with IEA and UN officials. He added: Our delegation also met with former President Hamid Karzai, officials of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), officials and members of the Afghan business community discussed India’s humanitarian aid to the Afghan people, and the use of Chabahar port by Afghan businessmen as well. This comes after the Indian Chargé d’Affaires at the “Afghanistan’s Regional Cooperation Initiative” had said that his country is on the way to improving relations with the current Islamic system.
