Grapes yields increased in Takhar

KABUL: A number of grapes growers in Rustaq and Dasht-e-Qala districts of the country’s northern Takhar province, said that grapes yields have increased compared to last year.
But they stressed that every year due to lack of standard greenhouses and lack of suitable markets inside and outside the country, they cannot sell their products in good price.
The predictions of the Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock director of Takhar shows that this year 94,500 tons of grapes will be collected in the province.
Chahab, Rustaq, Dasht-e-Qala districts and Taluqan, the provincial capital of Takhar province are among the places that have the largest harvest of grapes this year.
According to the officials, the main reason behind the increase in grapes is the good weather of the province.
