Govt. ready to establish transport chamber: President Ghani

KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with a number of Afghan Transporters here at the Presidential Palace late on Sunday and listened their problems and demands, the presidential press office statement said yesterday.
At the meeting which was also attended by officials of the Ministry of Transport, President Ghani emphasized on implementation of Transport law, saying government was ready to establish Transport Chamber and the officials of which should be selective, and membership of the high economic council would be given to them, according to the statement.
The president asked transporters to pay attention to their vehicles tonnage so that to protect the roads, adding those violating the rules should be legally dealt. According to president drafts on constructions of terminals were ready and would be implemented after sharing with the country’s transporters.
Hinting to importance of transport and transporters in development of the country, the president said government ready to address their challenges as well as ease vocational trainings to them, the statement added.
