KABUL: Another batch of 40 million U.S. dollars in cash humanitarian assistance has arrived in Kabul and deposited to one of the country’s private banks late on Monday, Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB), the country’s central bank said in a statement Tuesday.
“On (Nov. 7), part of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, a 40 million U.S. dollars arrived in Kabul and transferred to one of the country’s commercial banks,” DAB said without naming which private bank has received the cash. Welcoming the sending of the humanitarian cash assistances, the Afghan central bank or DAB called on the international community to implement its cash flow through the banking sector to Afghanistan. The poverty-stricken country also received a similar amount of 40 million dollars in cash humanitarian aid last week, raising the country’s foreign reserve to nearly 1.5 billion U.S. dollars.
