Fresh batch of $40m in cash assistance arrived in Kabul

KABUL: A fresh batch of 40 million U.S. dollars in cash humanitarian assistance has arrived in Kabul and deposited to one of the country’s private banks late on Saturday, Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB), the country’s central bank said in a statement on Sunday. “On May.14, as part of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, 40 million U.S. dollars arrived in Kabul and transferred to one of the country’s commercial banks,” said the statement. Welcoming the sending of the humanitarian cash assistance, the central bank called on the international community to implement its cash flow through the banking sector to the country, according to the statement. The poverty-stricken country also received similar amounts of 40 million dollars in cash humanitarian aid in the past weeks. The Kabul Times
