Foreign tourists’ visits to ancient sites of Samangan increased

KABUL: The provincial Tourism Department of Information and Culture of Samangan said the other day that the number of foreign tourists visiting the ancient and historic places of the province, especially Takht-e- Rustam, has increased. “Sixteen Italian and Spanish tourists have visited Aybak city, the provincial capital of Samangan and other ancient sites including Takht-e-Rustam, with the local officials providing them with comprehensive information about tourist sites,” the department said in a statement. With the resumption of the Islamic Emirate and the restoration of sure security in the country, an eye-catching increase has been witnessed in the number of foreign tourists to the country, said the statement. Ms. Lucapardila, a resident of Spain, says, “I have been hoping to visit the ancient places of Afghanistan for 30 years, and finally, I was able to visit Herat, Ghor, Mazar-e-Sharif and Samangan provinces with my group of 16 people.” The Kabul Times
