KABUL: Food and Drug Authority of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has said that four food and medicine quality control laboratories with international standards will be built in four zones of the country, a statement said Wednesday. The labs with interna- tional standards will be built in the provinces of Kandahar, Herat, Balkh and Nangahar to control the food and drug quality, said thestatement.
This is the first time that the related organ decided to build such large and standard laboratories in the country which included quality assurance, physical and chemical testing, research and development, medical device research and drugs testing, the statement said. This is to be noted that the labs will be built to prevent low-quality and illegal imported food and drugs, the statement added.
