KABUL: Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi in a telephone conversation with his Pakistani counterpart, assured that security of the neighboring country’s diplomats would be further strengthened, a statement from the Foreign Ministry said.
“Particular attention will be paid to the security of the embassy,” the foreign minister assured.
Muttaqi said that an investigation will be conducted to arrest the perpetrators of the attack and to bring them to justice, the statement quoted. The Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also said that such miserly attacks cannot harm ties between the two countries, adding that Pakistan will not allow anyone to succeed in such factious acts.
According to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry’s statement, Zardari affirms that his country has no plan to close its embassy or withdraw its diplomats from Kabul.
On Friday a failed assassination attempt happened in the embassy of Pakistan in Kabul by an armed person that injured a security guard seriously.
