Flood-affected families receive aids in Baghlan, official

PUL-E-KHUMRI: An amount of emergency aids have been distributed to the families affected by floods in three districts of Tala Barfak, Doshi and Burka in the country’s northern province of Baghlan, according to Bakhtar News Agency. The aids were distributed to the flood-affected families in coordination with the provincial Department of Economy. Haji Abdul Matin Akhundzada, director of the economy of Baghlan, said that Mawlavi Hidayatullah Hamdard, director of the natural disasters, was in the north-eastern zone with the head of UN-OCHA, and its deputy Babrak Osman for the purpose of providing aid for the affected families in the districts. Akhundzada said that 36 flood-affected families in Doshi, Burka, Tala Barfak districts were given some emergency aids by IOM and UNICEF as well as 9,970 Afghanis in cash assistance from ACTED and 200 kilograms of flour, 20 liters of oil, 2 kilograms of salt as well as baby food provided by AISO.
