Five arrested over stealing money in Baghlan

PUL-I-KHUMRI: Five people have been arrested in connection with stealing money from the Kabul Jewelers Union in the country’s northern province of Baghlan, the provincial General Directorate of Intelligence said in a statement Tuesday. Five individuals who earlier had stolen 1.8 million Saudi Riyal and 450,000 Euro of the Kabul Jewelers Union in the northern Salang highways during the transferring to the Balkh province have been arrested by the provincial General Directorate of Intelligence’s personnel, the statement said. The money was returned to the Jewelers Union and the detainees have also been taken to the judiciary organs for further investigation on their files, the statement added. Also, security forces of the IEA have earlier arrested dozens of people on charges of murdering, stealing, trafficking, and illegally keeping military weapons and ammunition across the country. Since the resumption of power by the Islamic Emirate, criminal activities are being tracked down all over the country, with the related organs committed to pursue criminals everywhere, arresting them and bringing them to law.
