First post-hajj Afghan pilgrims’ flight arrives in Kabul

KABUL: The first flight carrying 346 Afghan pilgrims landed in Kabul, and other pilgrims who are still in Saudi Arabia will return home over the next few days, the Ministry of Hajj and Islamic Affairs said in a statement Saturday. The first group of 364 pilgrims from Paktia and Paktika arrived at the Kabul International Airport, the statement said. Meanwhile, Afghan pilgrims who performed Hajj rituals after arriving home said that their journey had been well planned and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) had taken good care of everything. “We are very grateful to the Islamic Emirate for really serving the Afghan pilgrims and taking care of all the affairs of the pilgrims,” the statement quoted one of the pilgrims as saying. According to the ministry’s report, 30,000 pilgrims including government officials also participated in the Hajj ceremony this year. The Kabul Times
