First military training centre established in Badakhshan

FAIZABAD: For the first time a military education centre has been opened in the country’s northeastern province of Badakhshan, the Ministry of National Defense said in a statement the other day. Commander of the 219 Omare- Sales Army Corps Mullah Hafiz Mujahid, said the purpose of the educational center was capacity building, military training, improving technical and combat skills, according to the statement. The statement quoted Hafiz Mujahid as saying that the army cadets graduating from the center should be aware, strong and committed in the society. He asked the Islamic Emirate personnel to utilize the current opportunity and form a strong army which could be able to defend the country’s people and borders. Meanehile, the acting head of the Military Training Institute Qudratullah Karimi, said the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) forces would be provided with military technical training during the a three month professional course. It will include literacy, use of light and heavy weapons, driving and other professional technicals required for a uniformed army troop. “The purpose of military training in this center is to strengthen the Islamic army, if we can create an organized and strong army in all fields if it could defend the country’s borders against foreign invasion,” the statement quoted.
