First fresh grapes shipment exported to Russia

MAZAR-I-SHARIF: Over 2,000 cartons of fresh grapes have been exported to Russia via Haritan port for the first time, the provincial Chamber of Commerce said in a statement the other day. The fresh grapes were transported on Saturday by refrigerated trucks to Uzbekistan through the province’s Haritan port and from there to Russia, head of the Balkh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Asadullah Asadi, said, adding that during the past few months, goods exported from Afghanistan to neighboring countries have increased. Afghanistan’s major fresh and dry fruit exports have been mainly shipped to India and Pakistan. Afghanistan has also increased its exports to Central Asian countries including Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan this year, show figures from the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment.
