First-ever construction of underground market kicked off in Kabul

KABUL: For the first time, construction of an underground market has been kicked off in the first municipality district of the capital Kabul, Kabul Municipality said in a statement the other day. The market will be constructed in Sepahee Gumnam Square to Pul-e-Khushti area in the PD1 of Kabul city, the statement said. Mawlavi Mohammad Alam Asim, the head of the first district, said that the Kabul Municipality, in collaboration with the private sector, is undertaking this project to promote economic growth and alleviate congestion in the area. The next phase will involve the construction of shops and bridges in a modern and standardized manner, as per the design. The Kabul Times
