First Afghan pine nuts shipment exported to Europe, ministry

KABUL: The country’s first pine nuts shipment has been exported through Lapis Lazuli Route to the European countries, Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) said the other day.
“The first huge shipment of up to 12 tons of pine nuts worth 400,000 U.S. dollars with standard packaging has been exported from Herat to Germany,” the ministry wrote on its official Twitter account.
Afghanistan can transfer its materials and goods in transit to Europe through Lapis Lazuli route from Tour Ghandi in Herat and Aqeena in Faryab provinces.
The road was opened by transporting export goods via several trucks in Herat in 2018.
The lapis lazuli route starts from Afghanistan, reaches Turkmenistan, and then continues from Azerbaijan, Georgia, and then reaches to Turkey and Europe. The Kabul Times
