KABUL: The Ministry of Finance of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, during the government accountability program said that up to 135 billion afghanis have been collected in revenue last year.
In the program held in the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC), Finance Minister Mullah Hedayatullah Badri said that the ministry has collected 70 billion afghanis from customhouses and 65 billion afghanis in tax and non-tax revenues, the past year.
“The ministry has collected 231 billion afghanis for the budget of 1401 solar fiscal year, without foreign aids from domestic revenues”, the finance minister said.
After the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan return to power, in the first few weeks, the Ministry of Finance resumed all its systems and centralized all revenues, as well as reduced the level of corruption to zero, brought administrative reforms, and economically improved itself, he further said.
Meanwhile, Head of the Customs Revenue department of the ministry, Meraj Mohammad Meraj, said that this department has collected about 65 billion afghanis in tax and non-tax revenue in a year and it will increase even more by the end of the current year.
The Ministry of Finance has hired hundreds of professionals through open competition and is planning to promote 1058 other vacancies in which qualified and professional people will be hired.
