Exports, imports surpass 75,000 tons in a week

KABUL: A rough amount of 75,465 tons of commodities have been traded via the country’s railways in the past week, the Afghanistan Railway Authority (ARA) said in a statement Monday. “Around 51,723 metric tons of exports and imports have been made via Hairatan-Mazar-i-Sharif railway, 20,705 metric tons of commodities have been made via Torghundi railway and the rest has been made via Aqina and Khawaf railways,” the statement said. The imported commodities include oil and foodstuffs that have been imported into the country in the past week, the statement further said. Also, the exported commodities which mostly include dried fruit and pomegranate juice, have been exported to the outside of the country in the past week, the statement added. The Afghanistan Railway Authority is making efforts to pro vide traders with the necessary facilities and resolve the challenges facing them. The Kabul Times
