KABUL: A total of eight people including three women have been arrested in connection to making and selling alcoholic beverage in the country’s capital Kabul, police said Wednesday.
The incident happened at about 12 p.m. midnight in Taimani area of the capital, where a search team of the security forces detected a wine making plant, Kabul police said in a statement.
“Tens of bottles of wines have been seized and at least eight people, three of them women have been arrested during the search operation,” the statement confirmed.
The arrested people have been referred to the justice and judicial organs for more investigations into their cases, said the source.
Earlier in the week, scores of people have been arrested in connection to keeping and selling drugs and alcoholic beverages, after a police team in coordination with the intelligence forces detected wine making plants and drug laboratories in some parts of the capital and provinces.
