Economic Commission holds meeting

KABUL: The Economic Commission was held with Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar on the chair, at the Marmarin Palace, a statement from his office said Tuesday. The meeting approved the inter-ministerial investment committee based on the proposed amendments, aiming to accelerate the process of attracting domestic and foreign investment, coordination between ministries and relevant institutions in the stages of investment projects, providing a suitable platform for investment and good management of affairs, as well as providing necessary information to investors about investment in the country, the statement said. “The plan for the construction of Jahan Park by the public-private sector in the 11th district of Kabul city was approved and the Kabul Municipal ity has been tasked to hold meeting and discuss the technical issues with the contractor,” the statement said. Based on the approved plan, the private sector will invest 960 million Afghani on 150 acres of land and will complete the construction work of the part within three years, and 35 percent of the revenue the investment will be given to Kabul Municipality, the statement added. Also, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce has been tasked to provide the industrial parks with land in the provinces and comprehensive support should be given to all the factories, including domestic production factories that are equal to the standard, and those factories that are not equal to the standard should be made obliged to close them in a short time. Furthermore, the Afghanistan Food and Drug Authority was tasked to strictly prevent substandard salt from being introduced into the market. The Kabul Times
