Earthquake jolts Badakhshan province

KABUL: A mild-intensity earthquake rattled Faizabad, the capital city of the country’s northern Badakhshan province, on Monday an Afghan media quoting India’s National Center for Seismology tweeted the other day. “The tremor of 3.1 magnitudes took place at about 3:20 am local time in the country’s northeastern province, the center said on its tweeter page, according to Pajhwok Afghan News. According to the report, the epicenter of the quake, with 150 km depth, was in the Zebak district of the province, with no information, if the natural incident left casualties. Last month, a powerful quake struck Jurm district of Badakhshan province, where 10 people were reported dead and as many wounded. The Kabul Times
