Drug labs discovered, 17 arrested in 5 provinces

KABUL: The counter-narcotics personnel have discovered two drug processing and alcohol producing labs and arrested 17 persons for being involvement in five provinces of the country, a statement from the Ministry of Interior said the other day.
Most of the arrested individuals were from northern and central provinces, according to the statement.
Three people with 15 kilograms of hashish in Kabul and three people for being involved in dealing drugs in Badakhshan have been arrested, the statement said.
Meanwhile, a processing alcohol lab in Kabul province and one drug processing lab in Khost province, have also been discovered and seized, according to the statement.
According to the statement, one acre of land has been cleared of poppy and three people have been arrested in Daikundi province.
Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, in a decree, banned poppy cultivation and its processing countrywide with the security forces intensifying efforts against the illegal phenomenon. The Kabul Times
