Drug addicts rounding up campaign kicked off in Farah

FARAH: A campaign to collect drug addicts has been launched in the country’s western province of Farah, the provincial police office said in a statement the other day. About 100 to 150 drug addicts have been rounded up on the first day of the drive, the statement said, adding a special rehabilitation center has been established for the treatment of the addicts and they would be kept there until their health condition improves. Meanwhile, the provincial police spokesman Mawlavi Mohammad Naseem Badri said that the campaign will continue until all drug addicts were rounded up from the provincial capital and districts. On the other hand, residents hailed the government’s move. Gul Ahmad, a resident of Farah said that rounding up drug addicts and providing them with treatment was appreciable. He emphasized that these addicts should be kept in the rehabilitation center until they were fully recovered. The Islamic Emirate has started efforts to collect and treat drug addicts and has so far collected thousands of addicts in various parts of the country, especially Kabul, for treatment. M. Nabi
