Dr. Abdullah attends World Economic Forum in Jordon

KABUL: The World Economic Forum began in Jordan on Saturday, addressing “new platforms of cooperation” for the Arab world. Chief Executive of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Dr. Abdullah Abdullah attended the forum, a statement from the CE press office said.
The 17th World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa brings together more than 1,000 leaders of government, business, civil society, faith and academia.
“If we want to shape the future, we need new collaborative efforts,” said WEF founder Klaus Schwab at the opening of the event. “We need platforms for cooperation.”
Speakers include King Abdullah of Jordan, Saudi Energy Minister Khalid Al-Falih and Antonio Guterres, secretary-general of the UN.
King Abdullah of Jordon thanked world leaders, including Dr. Abdullah for attending the Forum in Jordon.
UN Secretary General Guterres raised the issue of climate change, saying that more needs to be done to tackle it. “Climate change is moving faster than our efforts to address it … This region will face some of the worst impacts,” he said.
