KABUL: The Ministry of Defense of the Islamic Emirate has repaired 300 different military vehicles which had earlier been destroyed and were unusable during the former governments, the ministry said on its Twitter page. On Friday, the ministry wrote on its twitter handle that the vehicles were repaired by the technical team of the Al- Badr Corps Abu Dujana Brigade.
The recently repaired vehicles include 150 Kamaz-type trucks, 125 Humvees, two battle tanks, four trailers and 15ambulances, the tweet said. The MoD engineering and technical teams have so far repaired hundreds of vehicles that had been destroyed in the past conflict. This comes after the U.S. Defense Ministry, in one of its reports, earlier said that military equipment costing 7 billion U.S. dollars provided for the former Afghan government security and defense forces, are now taken by the Islamic Emirate forces.
The report also said that 40,000 of 96,000 military vehicles including 12,000 armored Humvees which have been handed over to the ex-Afghan government security forces have also been taken by the Islamic Emirate forces, but the Pentagon doubted whether the vehicles are now being used.
