Dozens of unusable military vehicles repaired recently, ministry

KABUL: Dozens of various military vehicles which had earlier been destroyed and were unusable during the former governments have been repaired by the technical team of 217th Omari Army Corps, a statement from the Ministry of National Defense said Sunday. The repaired vehicles include one Ranger, 4 excavators, 3 Graders, 11 bulldozers, 2 loaders, 4 Dampers, and two Rollers, said the statement. Efforts are underway to repair all destroyed and unusable military vehicles countrywide, said the statement. The MoD engineering and technical teams have so far repaired hundreds of vehicles that had been destroyed in the past. This comes after the U.S. Defense Ministry, in one of its reports, earlier said that military equipment costing 7 billion U.S. dollars provided for the former Afghan government security and defense forces, is now taken by the Islamic Emirate forces. The report also said that 40,000 of 96,000 military vehicles including 12,000 armored Humvees which have been handed over to the ex-Afghan government security forces have also been taken by the Islamic Emirate forces, but the Pentagon doubted whether the vehicles are now being used.
