Doha meeting hoped to focus on realities, achievements in Afghanistan

Peace and security and efforts to work for the people are the main achievements if a government wants to do them for the people. After the power takeover of the Islamic Emirate nearly three years, Afghanistan has seen sure and wide security, encouraging people to do their daily routines with peace of mind. Dozens of meetings, by many world countries and organizations, have so far been hosted in some of the neighboring, regional and world countries, but all went in vain as they had not concluded fruitful for the war and economic-battered Afghanistan. Another meeting is expected to be held in Doha, the capital of the Arab country of Qatar, where the United Nations has stated that it would encourage the ruling Afghan government (the Islamic Emirate) to engage with the world. Media reported Stéphane Dujarric, spokesperson for the United Nations Secretary-General, as saying that the issue of human rights, especially the rights of women and girls in Afghanistan, will be highlighted at the third Doha meeting. According to the media, the UN Secretary-General’s spokesperson has said ‘the aim of the third Doha meeting was to encourage the governing authorities to engage with the international community through a coordinated and structured approach for the benefit of the Afghan people.’ Dujarric has also been quoted as saying that the United Nations will highlight the issue of human rights, particularly the rights of Afghan women and girls in all discussions. “Human rights and the rights of women and girls will be highlighted by the United Nations in all discussions,” he said. Anyway, the meeting is very important for Afghanistan, but if discuss the national interest of Afghanistan, but if intelligence or political confrontations were the agenda either behind doors or obviously, then it will not be beneficial for any side. On the other hand, if the meeting reflects the viewpoints of some spiteful individuals in the name of the representative of women’s rights, it will not give positive results and like many previous ones, holding such meetings would only be wasting time, as the human rights and the rights of women and girls are now fully secured, considering their free movements, education and work in accordance with the Islamic Emirate. Also, the third Doha meeting which is expected to be held at the end of the outgoing month and the Islamic Emirate will also send a delegation led by the Islamic Emirate Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, according to media. The country’s Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi also confirmed that the Islamic Emirate will participate in the meeting, as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has also been officially invited to attend it. This is to be noted that inviting the Islamic Emirate for the third Doha meeting, which analysts call the most important event for the country if focuses on the realities and achievements of the three years of the Islamic Emirate, indicates that the world has now increasingly recognized the importance and status of the Islamic system. In the first meeting of the Doha meeting, which was held in May 2023 with the UN Secretary-General on the lead, the demands of the Islamic Emirate were not accepted, this is why Afghanistan did not send its representative. At the threshold of the third Doha meeting, Rosemary DiCarlo, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, and Roza Otunbayeva the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, are expected to meet with the representatives of the Islamic Emirate and special representatives of other countries for Afghanistan, as well as with civil activists and women on the second day of July. The people of Afghanistan are impatiently waiting for the third Doha meeting consequences as they are fed up with the devastating poverty, which desperately resulted from the international community’s refusal to recognize the Islamic Emirate, a move that still kept billions of U.S. dollars in Afghanistan’s central bank’s asset. They hoped the world would further enter a meaningful and result-oriented dialogue with the Islamic Emirate, through which, the two sides could enhance mutual interactions in the economic and political areas.
