Iran is ready to cooperate with Afghanistan on economics, Kazemi

KABUL: Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund met with the Iranian delegation led by Hassan Kazemi Qumi, Iranian President’s Special Representative for Afghanistan and Acting Ambassador to the country, Deputy PM office said in a statement the other day.
In the meeting, the two sides discussed political and economic relations, and Afghan refugees’ situation.
“The available situation in Afghanistan is a good opportunity to increase joint cooperation between the two countries said Deputy PM adding that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is ready for any kind of cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran to invest in different fields such as mines, energy, and agriculture in the country,” according to the statement. The Iranian delegation touched on the current security and stability in Afghanistan as unprecedented and emphasized that Afghans and the regional countries should tremendously benefit from it.
Also, the head of the Iranian delegation stated that Iran was ready to cooperate with Afghanistan in the economic field and added that his country has sufficient experience in mining and agriculture and was ready to invest in these sectors. Both sides also exchanged views on the issue of Afghan refugees in Iran with the deputy PM appreciating Iran for addressing Afghan refugees and emphasized on strengthening relations between the two countries.
