Deputy PM Beradar instructs commission to address natural disasters affected people

KABUL: The natural disaster management commission held meeting with Deputy Prime Minister on Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund on the chair, a statement from his office said Sunday.
The deputy prime minister, during the meeting, instructed the commission to duly address the recent flood-affected people and provide them with emergency aids, according to the statement.
Mullah Beradar Akhund also urged for transparency during the distribution of aids to the recent rainfall and flood affected people.
The statement quoted the deputy prime minister urging the related organs to remain on alert in case of any forecast of rains to prevent any possible life or property losses in the country.
The ministries with membership of the natural disaster management commission, assured the deputy prime minister of their efforts for on time addressing the problems of the flood affected people.
In the last one month, over 194 people have been killed and 265 others wounded by the recent floods in some provinces of the country, where 400,000 acres of lands have been washed away and thousands of livestock were perished.
Hundreds of water canals, mini-dams and supportive walls have also been swept by floods triggered by torrential rains in the provinces.
