Defense minister meets Chinese special envoy to Afghanistan

KABUL: Acting Defense Minister of the Islamic Emirate Mawlavi Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid has met with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China’s Special Envoy to Afghanistan, his office said in a statement Wednesday. In the meeting, both sides discussed economic issues and bilateral cooperation in various sectors, according to the statement.
Mujahid has assured that the Islamic Emirate would pave the ground and cooperate with Chinese companies to invest in Afghanistan. The envoy described Afghanistan a friendly neighbor of his country and assured that China will provide assistance for the country in different fields.
China and Afghanistan have a long history of good neighborhoods and friendly ties, and that country has long helped Afghanistan in various areas.
