KABUL: Da Afghanistan Breshna Sharkat (DABS) has pledged that the power supply will remain normal during Eid al-Adha.
According to the DABS officials, necessary information in connection with the recent reduction of electricity in the country has been shared with media and people in social media.
According to DABS: the power generation has decreased due to reduced water in the country. It said that the electricity imported from other countries was unable to fulfill the needs of consumers.
According to a press release issued by DABS, people needed more electricity during hot weather. The electricity generated in the country and imported from other countries was unable to fulfill the needs of consumers during 24 hours. It forced the DABS to suspend power supply to various areas as per an organized schedule.
The statement added that three hydropower dams, including Naghlo, Sarubi and Maheepar on river Kabul would generate 100 megawatts of power in summer and spring seasons in the past, while, the respective dams could now only generate 20 megawatts of power, saying that it had adversely affected power distribution system.
The DABS leadership assured that as per the decision taken in a meeting with technical officials, electricity supply would stay normal from tomorrow till the last days of Eid al- Adha.
Power outages would be brought to the lowest level to enable citizens to celebrate the upcoming Eid al-Adha in a peaceful environment.
Power supply to Kabul and other provinces has significantly decreased over the past few days as the electricity load-shedding continues for several hours.
