Cycling held in Badghis, Zabul

KABUL: Bicycle riding competitions were held in Qala-e-Naw the capital of Badghis province and the Qalat capital of Zabul province, the General Directorate of Physical Education and Sport of Afghanistan, said in separate statements Sunday. The cycling competition was held between 10 athletes, in Badghis with the running a dis tance of 70 kilometers, said the statement. According to another report, a 40-kilometer cycling competition was held among 45 athletes in Qalat, the capital of the Zabul province. In the competitions, Ahmad Shah won first place, Samiullah won second place, and Ahmadullah won third place, said the statement. The best players were honored by the relevant provincial Directorate of Physical Education and Sport of the provinces, said the statement. The competitions were held to encourage young people to participate in cycling sports and to find the best athletes. The Kabul Times
