KABUL: Ministry of Information and Culture (MoIC) in a ceremony, on Sunday, marked the Cultural Heritage Preservation National Day in the National Museum.
In the ceremony, attended by deputy ministers and directors of the MoIC and a number of the country’s cultural figures, Deputy Minister of Finance, Administrative and Tourism of the Ministry of Information and Culture, Mawlavi Saduddin Sayeed said that the Islamic Emirate was committed to the protection and preservation of the country’s cultural heritages.
Also, Deputy Minister of Culture and Arts for the MoIC Mawlavi Atiqullah Azizi said that the country’s cultural heritages were showing the history and identity of Afghanistan and its people and the Islamic Emirate was making effort to prevent trafficking, selling and illegal excavation of the country’s historic artifacts.
In the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Publications for the MoIC Zabihullah Mujahid also briefed on the values of the country’s cultural heritages saying the IEA was paying particular attention to the protection and preservation of the country’s cultural heritages.
“Historical monuments represent the high culture and the level of knowledge of our past,” Mujahid further said.
He called on the international organizations to cooperate with the Islamic Emirate in preservation of Afghanistan cultural heritages.
