KABUL: A grand assembly of the country’s Ulama — religious scholars is scheduled to be officially started on Thursday (today), spokesmen of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Zabihullah Mujahid told a news conference here in Kabul.
The grand assembly is said to be held in the Loya Jirga tent, where over 3,000 religious scholars, tribal elders and influential figures are expected to gather and talk on some key issues, the IEA spokesman said.
At the gathering, the participants will share their ideas and suggestions, which will be discussed later, according to Mujahid.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Emirate security officials said that multiple security teams have been formed to ensure firm security of the grand assembly.
The country’s scholars earlier called on the IEA to pave the ground for holding the scholars’ grand assembly, to discuss some key issues.
