Costing $800,000, bridge to be built in Paktika

SHARAN: Construction work on a bridge worth 800,000 U.S. dollars, in an official ceremony, has been kicked off in the country’s eastern province of Paktika, the provincial Public Work Department said in a statement the other day. The ceremony was attended by several local officials, scholars and tribal elders, the statement said. The bridge with a length of 40 meters, will be constructed in Yahya Khel district of the province, providing job opportunities for hundreds of local people, the statement further said. Officials of the provincial public work department assured that they are making efforts to launch such development projects to address the people’s problems and provide them with job opportunities in the province.
