Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has irresponsibly blamed Afghanistan for becoming a hideout for terrorist groups’ activities, particularly, after the return of the Islamic Emirate to power, one year ago.
“Pakistan shares the key concern of the international community regarding the threat posed by the major terrorist groups operating from Afghanistan especially IS-K and Tahrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, as well as al-Qaeda ETIM and IMU,” this is what Shahbaz Sharif the prime minister of Pakistan said at the 77th United Nation General Assembly, about Afghanistan which is making strong effort to eliminate all kinds of insurgency including the so-called Islamic State and other illegal armed activities.
The remarks by the neighboring country’s Prime Minister have not only caused annoyed the Afghan people who have long suffered war and insurgency harbored in Pakistan but sparked reactions from present and former Afghan politicians.
A statement from the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan rejected any terrorist activities in Afghanistan and said that some countries, including the United States and Pakistan have expressed concerns that threat of terrorism still exists in Afghanistan.
These concerns, according to the ministry’s statement, were based on inaccurate information and sources as the relevant parties are yet to hand over the seat of Afghanistan at the United Nations to its “rightful, legal and political owners, the Afghan government.”
At a gathering here in Kabul, the country’s acting foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi said that there are “biased circles in the world calling Afghanistan a terrorist haven.”
Also, former President Hamid Karzai said the remarks are not true.
In a statement, Karzai said that Afghanistan has been the victim of terrorism and that terrorist sanctuaries have been operational under the Pakistani government in the country and have been used against Afghanistan for long decades.
A political expert, Abdul Haq Hammad also spoke about the accusation made by Pakistan about Afghanistan and said that Pakistan accuses Afghanistan of becoming a haven for militant groups to hide its own fault of training and growing any types of international terrorist networks and sending to other countries.
Afghanistan has never been and would never become a safe sanctuary for the terrorists and no country would be threated from Afghanistan.
Pakistan has long been the main creation center, safe training area and the key supporter of terrorist bands not only to insecure Afghanistan, but also, to disturb the world orders and cause insurgency overwhelm nations in the region.
Let’s start from ourselves, bring change in our thoughts and minds and our behaviors with our neighbors rather to blame others for our own fault.
Afghanistan, particularly, after the return of the Islamic Emirate has reduced the power and number of militants and illegal armed groups to zero, except some certain areas, where the IEA security forces are still searching for all types of insurgents.
