Construction work on most Kabul roads due to complete

Officials of Kabul municipality have informed of the acceleration of construction and renovation work on most roads and squares in Kabul city. According to Kabul municipality, construction work on the city’s most roads and renovation work on most squares of the city have been started since last year. In an exclusive interview with The Kabul Times correspondent, Nimatullah Barakzai, a spokesperson of Kabul municipality, said lots of work has been started on construction and renovation of roads and squares in Kabul city since the Islamic Emirate takeover.
“Construction project of Nasaji – Bagrami road with 2,530m length has been recently completed with the total cost of 28 million AFG funded by Kabul municipality,” Barakzai said, adding that the Kabul municipality leading body and personnel have made effort to first construct and complete the first line of the road which is 1,250m long and 10.5m wide and then the second line with 1,280m length and 10.5m width in a standardized way.
Pointing to Qala-e-Zaman Khan road, the Kabul municipality spokesperson added the main lines of Qala-e-Zaman Khan road has been asphalted and completed and work on sub-lines of the road was underway.
According to Barakzai, Kabul municipality is making its best to complete the 60m-wide Qala-e-Zaman Khan road starting from Banayee to Ahmad Shah Baba Mena with a total 4,300m length in four main and sub-lines including the construction of the road’s sidewalks, streams, lights and others. Barakzai by pointing to the work progress of the roads in Kabul city said that construction projects of Sartapa Kart-e-Naw’s road with a total length of 290m and different widths, connecting the road of Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan’s 15 Street to Shirpur’s 1st Street with 391m length and 22.5m width and a width of 22.5 have been completed with a total cost of 71 million AFG funded by Kabul municipality.
The Kabul municipality spokesperson added that construction work on Amniyat Township – Qala-e-Zaman Khan road with a 730m length and 30m width and Wazir Akbar Khan – Qala-e-Musa and Bibi Mahro road with a 1,084m length and different widths have been started by Kabul municipality.
He also said that work on asphalting the connecting roads of Khushal Mena’s A and B lines in PD 5 has been started by the Kabul municipality and would be soon completed, adding that the Kabul municipality leading body and personnel were making effort to execute and complete all projects with better quality.
The Kabul municipality spokesperson has also informed of that the construction work on a sub-line of Kart-e-Naw road starting from Seya Sang – 1st Street of Kart-e-Naw was underway and would soon be completed with the total cost of 22 million AFG funded by Kabul municipality.
It is worth mentioning that work on 20 projects is underway in Kabul city and the Kabul municipality has assured of completion of the projects before the cold season of the winter. Shukria Kohistani
