Construction work on key bridge kicked off in Kunar

ASADABAD: Construction work on a key bridge with a length of 38 meters worth 13 million Afghani (some 182,836 U.S. dollars), in an official ceremony, has been kicked off in the southeastern province of Kunar, the provincial governor’s press office said in a statement the other day. The bridge with the financial support of the Ministry of National Defense will be built within 6 months in the Dubundu area of Dangam district of the province, addressing the transportation problems of thousands of people in the region, the statement said. The project not only improves connectivity but also contributes to the local economy and provides job opportunities for hundreds of people. Meanwhile, a number of locals expressed gratitude for the initiation of the development project and asked the leadership of the Islamic Emirate to further launch development projects in the province.
