Construction work on commercial market kicked off in Kabul, KM

KABUL: Construction work on a commercial market worth 58 million Afghani (some 803,106 U.S. dollars), in an official ceremony, has been kicked off in the capital Kabul, the Kabul Municipality said in a statement Wednesday. The ceremony was attended by several high-ranking government officials including the provincial governor Mullah Aminullah Obaid and Art and Culture Deputy Minister of Information and Culture Mawlavi Atiqullah Azizi, the statement said. The market with 6 floors will be built on 331 square meters within one year in the Deh Afghanan area of Kabul city, the statement further said, adding the market will have 49 shops. The contractor company will pay 515,028 Afghani as rent to Kabul municipality per month and 6.2 million Afghani are collected to the account of the municipality, the statement further said. This is to be noted that after 3 years the contract will be renewed by the Kabul Municipality, the statement read. The Kabul Times
