HERAT: Construction work on 60 more houses for quakeaffected families, in an official ceremony, has been kicked off Zinda Jan district of the country’s western province of Herat, the provincial Information and Culture Department said in a statement the other day. The ceremony was attended by the provincial governor and other local officials participated in the inaugural ceremony, the statement said. Addressing the ceremony, the provincial Governor Mawlavi Noor Ahmad Islam appreciated the industrialists’ support to victims of the earthquake, according to the statement. In response, the industrialists promised to help the government by reaching out to the quake-affected people and providing employment opportunities for them. Earlier, the construction work on thousands of houses for the quake survivors had been launched in some districts of the province.
