Construction of second lane of Kabul-Khost highway kicked off

KABUL: Construction work on the second Lane of the KabulKhost highway worth 200 million Afghani (2.72 million U.S. dollars) in an official ceremony, has been kicked off, the provincial Municipality said in a statement the other day. The ceremony was attended by a number of provincial officials, elders and scholars, the statement said. The provincial Mayor Qari Besmillah Bilal said the highway with a length of 7 kilometers and a width of 21 meters will be constructed, according to the statement. Qari Belal added that the budgets of the project are paid by the provincial municipality and will provide thousands of people with job opportunities. The Kabul Times
