China respects Afghanistan’s independence, new Ambassador

KABUL: The Acting Interior Minister of the Islamic Emirate Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani met with the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan, Zhao Xing, here in Kabul, the ministry said in a statement Monday. Thanking the ex-Chinese Ambassador for strengthening ChinaAfghanistan relations in difficult situations, Haqqani welcomed Zhao Xing and wished him success in his mission in the country, according to the statement. “China has always been a good neighbor of Afghanistan and respects the independence of this country and has always had a neutral policy regarding Afghanistan,” the statement quoted Haqqani as saying. Assuring all kinds of cooperation by the Islamic Emirate for the new Chinese Ambassador, Haqqani also said that the Islamic Emirate was trying to create productive interaction with the world countries, particularly China, the statement added. Meanwhile, Zhao Xing, said that after the resumption of power by the Islamic Emirate, the friendly country of Afghanistan has made significant progress in various fields over the past two years. Praising sure security, peace, stability and development in Afghanistan, Xing said that China and Afghanistan were two good neighboring countries and his country respected Afghanistan’s independence, beliefs, and culture and had no intention to interfere in its internal affairs.
