KABUL: Tripartite meeting of foreign ministers of China, Pakistan, and Afghanistan was held in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan on Sunday, Bakhtar News Agency reported. In the meeting, political, economic, trade, and transit relations have been discussed and exchanged between the three countries, as well as regional stability. On the edge of the meeting, China’s Foreign Minister, Qin Gang met with Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, and Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, said the agency. In his meeting with Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Mr. Gang emphasized the expansion of relations between China and Afghanistan in various sectors including investment, trade, and transit, and added that China was ready to support Kabul in economic reconstruction. Holding such a meeting in the current situation can be beneficial for the strengthening of economic and political relations between the three countries, the agency quoted the IEA acting Foreign Minister as saying. China is always trying to continue its economic cooperation with the people of Afghanistan in various arenas. After the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan returns to power, China provided foodstuff, nonfoodstuff, and spices to thousands of needy families in various parts of Afghanistan and the process is still going on. It should be mentioned that recently Chinese investors have also expressed their interest in investing in Afghanistan’s mines. Few days ago, a Chinese company, in a meeting with the officials of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan, requested to invest in a lithium mine worth 10 billion dollars. At the beginning of this year, another Chinese company signed the Amu oil and gas contract at a cost of more than 8 billion dollars by senior officials of the Islamic Emirate in Kabul. The people of Afghanistan are grateful for the humanitarian aid of the Chinese government and people, and they will never forget China’s cooperation. The Kabul Times
