KABUL: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) Mullah Mohammad Hanif Hamza met with the Chinese Chamber of Commerce representative, in Kabul and discussed issues relating to the production of electricity from coal in Afghanistan, the DABS said in a statement Saturday.
China’s Chamber of Commerce representative during a meeting with the General Director of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) said his country was ready to invest in production of 500 megawatts electricity from coal in the country, the statement quoted.
In the meeting, the Chinese delegation also said that they had good experience of producing energy from coal in more than 10 world countries. “We are ready to invest in the production of 500 megawatts coal-energy in Afghanistan,” said the delegation as quoted by the statement.
Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) Chief Executive Mullah Mohammad Hanif Hamza thanked China’s Chamber of Commerce representative and assured that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan would provide support for any investments in the country.
“The two countries’ joint delegations will discuss on the issue and share the result with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate,” the statement quoted.
