Challenges facing antique bazaar, handicrafts in Bamyan shared with Minister Khairkhwa

BAMYAN: The country’s Minister of Information and Culture, Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa, traveled to Bamyan province to visit historical sites and assess the tourism industry in the province on Friday.
Acting Minister of Information and Culture of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan met with the governor and provincial Director of Information and Culture of the province, a statement said the other day.
Khairkhwa visited Bamyan historical sites to look forward to better preservation of the monuments and to promote the tourism industry of Bamyan.
During the meeting with the director of information and culture Mawlavi Saif-ul-Rahman Mohammadi, Minister Khairkhwa discussed better preservation of the historical sites in that province, according to the statement.
Mohammadi briefed details about tourism situation and opportunities to promote culture of tourism and increase of tourism incomes and its transfer to the government treasury.
According to the statement, the construction of an antique Bazaar to promote handicrafts products in the country and to meet the current challenges of the handicrafts industry were discussed and it was decided a professional committee of relevant organs to be formed to initiate the project.
At the end, the Acting Minister of Information and Culture instructing some necessary direction vowed that their problems would be addressed.
