Central Bank seeking good ties with international financial institutions

KABUL: Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) – the country’s central bank desired good relations with the international financial and banking institutions in accordance with the law, the acting head of the bank Hedayatullah Badri said in a meeting with the Italian Ambassador on Wednesday. A statement released by the bank quoted Badri and the Italian Ambassador to Afghanistan Natalia Quintavalle to Afghanistan to have discussed some issues including the current economic situation of the country, keeping the Afghani currency stable and expansion of Islamic banking. “The central bank desired cooperative relations with all countries’ financial institutions in light of rules and regulations,” said Badri adding the bank had well maintained the relations over the past more than two years. In the meantime, the Italian ambassador hailed the economic and political stability of Afghanistan and vowed cooperation with the Afghan central bank, according to the statement. The Kabul Times
